Project Update

It’s been a year since we announced that we were working on a book about the Polerouter. We were absolutely delighted with the response from collectors and over the moon that so many people showed an interest in the project and signed up to our mailing list.

Whilst the book gave us something to occupy our minds during periods of confinement, the global pandemic has not made things easy. Long periods during which we’ve not even been able to meet in person or work with our photographer have certainly slowed us down and the restrictions on international travel have also made collaboration with other collectors very difficult, something that we think is key to the success of the book.

It is still too early, and the global situation too uncertain, to speculate about a publication date but it is fair to say that it is not imminent. The good news is that things have greatly improved in the UK and we are back working with few restrictions although international travel is still very difficult for us.

Hopefully our new Polerouter prints will help to tide you over whilst you patiently wait for the main event. Please see here for further details.

Your help is needed

We’ve been working tirelessly to hunt for the rarest and most spectacular examples for the book. Our photographer has already captured over sixty watches, but we are still very keen to work with other collectors. Not only will collaboration ensure that the book showcases the very finest Polerouters, but in working with the collecting community, we hope that this will allow more people to feel part of the project. We are also particularly interested in watches with stories, so if you own a Polerouter with provenance, perhaps a family connection, then we would love to hear from you.

The Polerouter universe is just too huge and diverse for us to chronicle on our own and we’re really grateful to those collectors who have worked with us already. Hopefully you enjoyed the experience and you are looking forward to seeing your prized possessions in print.

If you own a watch, an accessory or some ephemera that you think other collectors would enjoy seeing in the book, please reach out to us using the Contact page. We genuinely enjoy every message that we receive and hugely look forward to hearing from you.

On tour

As soon as it is safe to do so, we hope to travel again to meet with other Polerouter enthusiasts. We were both at the Polerouter GTG in Paris in 2019 and had the pleasure of meeting many European based collectors but we’re also intending to travel a little further afield.

Top of our list is a trip to the US. We’re hoping to be able to put on some events so that collectors can meet and enjoy each other’s watches. We would also look to bring our photographer and stay for a few days in order to work with those collectors who were keen for their watches to feature in the book.

If you’re based in the US and would enjoy meeting with other Polerouter devotees, then please send us a message using the Contact page. It would be really helpful for us to understand where people are based, how far they are willing to travel etc. We’re excited to make some new friends and to put some faces to some names of old ones.
